Brother John Amaechi Ogbonnaya was involved in student ministry for 13 years, served as an Evangelist for 3 years and founded “Divine Faith Builders Int’l Ministries” (DFBIM), a ministry that brings renewal, revival and restoration. Recharging, reinforcing and resourcing the pastors and church leaders for intentional exploits. DFBIM engages, equips and empowers ministers to navigate cultural, transitional, ministerial, and political currents and develop spiritual vision and strategy for the local church. In addition, he accepted pastoral ministry with The Apostolic Church Nigeria where he and his wife Dr. Joy Akuchi Ogbonnaya served for 9 years.
During his years in Nigeria, he served as Associate Pastor with The Redeemed Christian Church of God Ibadan, Assembly Pastor, District Youth Leader, and Adult Pastor, and District Men’s Leader and Sectional Pastor, including serving at the National headquarters of The Apostolic church Nigeria.
Pastor John Ogbonnaya was ordained by Apostle Bode Thomas of Fuller Church and Theological Seminaries Ibadan Nigeria, 2000 and in 2008 God brought Pastor John Ogbonnaya to USA to further his education. He received full credential, certification, and ordination by Apostle Dr. Lee Johnson of SOV Norwalk Cal. During this new chapter, he gained more experience, exposure and capacity in pastoral ministry, counseling, and Soul care. He served as a Prayer Pastor in a Caucasian church, English Ministry Pastor in a Korean church, and Collège group pastor in an Indian church. In his ministry in USA, he combines a strong background in biblical, theological studies, and pastoral ministry with his years of cross-cultural experience in missions, clinical pastoral education and charismatic ministry skills and contemporary Understanding of contextualization and Strategic perspectives. He aims at equivalence Biblically, Traditionally, theoretically, Experientially, with equivalent theology and dynamically relevant first century apostolic ministry model – Pastor John Ogbonnaya believes that supernatural was a key component in the ministry of Jesus, the apostles, and the early post-apostolic church. Demonstrative theology shows us and demonstrates to us in practical terms to -be, do and go. Not Speculative theology but practical theology. He Interprets the Bible from Originalism and textualism not only Proverbial and prophetic. He has written two books and enjoys sharing his passion for missions, discipleship, church planting and leadership skills with people in any part of the world. He and his wife, Joy, live in Harbor City, and have been blessed with three daughters, Miracle, Victory and Marvelous and two sons Immanuel and Divine.
